Fun, unique and creative ways to personalize your wedding
Not sure how to make your wedding day stand out among the rest? Here are 8 creative ways to make your wedding day fun, unique & personalized to you as a couple!
1. CREATE A SPECIAL DRINK - Do you both have favourite drinks? Have the bar create specialty drinks for cocktail hour that are both your fave drinks!
2. DISPLAY PHOTOS AROUND THE VENUE - If you want to make it a bit more cozy and showcase your relationship, add some photos of you and your partner from over the years to show how you’ve grown as a couple. People will love looking at them and see you throughout the years!
3. CHANGE THE TABLE NUMBERS - Table numbers don’t just have to be number, change them up and have some fun with them! Instead, label the tables as a favourite hobby or common interest you share (i.e. use countries you've travelled together if travel is your thing, or food dishes you love if you are foodies).
4. INCLUDE GAMES - Games people? Include lawn games that your guests can play during cocktail hour. Heck, why not put little games you can play at the table in between servings! Connect 4 anyone?
5. MAKE YOUR WEDDING FAVOURS UNIQUE TO YOU AS A COUPLE - If you’re having wedding favours, why not make it something that relates to you as a couple and some of your favourite things to do together. For example, if you love to cook, a cute olive oil take home bottle would be nice. Or if you love to garden, what about a cute little succulent.
6. CUSTOMIZE THE MENU - Big foodies? Customize the menu to foods you enjoy as a couple! Hire a late night ice-cream truck if dessert is your thing. Or maybe have a taco station if savoury is your thing!
7. USE SONGS - Do you have a song that's meaningful to you? Use it as your entrance or exit to the ceremony! Sound creates a deeper connection and if you’re walking down the aisle to a song that is special to you both, it can make it more meaningful. Shawn and I chose to walk down the aisle to “Hallelujah” - one of our favourite songs we listen to all the time and exit to “Bad Boys” which is also another personal joke we share. We made it us, you should too if you want.
8. INCORPORATE A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER - Have a friend or family member "officiate" the wedding to make it more personal to you and do the legal signing later on! Or, have a legal officiant “witness” the ceremony, while your chosen person officiates the wedding for you so you can still do the legal stuff there.
